There is never quite enough room to display everything so of necessity some exhibits find themselves locked away from the public gaze in the museum store.
To redress this state of affairs the Public Catalogue Foundation in partnership with the BBC are collecting high quality photographic images of all oil and acrylic paintings in public ownership in the UK and making them available for their owners’ scrutiny on the "Your Paintings" website.
This doesn't obviously quite compare to the experience of seeing the painting up close in real life so the PCF & BBC have asked participating galleries like us to take part in a special "Behind Closed Doors" event next February. During the half term week we will hold special open days showing off those paintings that have been languishing in the museum store and telling the public their stories.
As a treat to whet your appetite we have dusted off "Here Comes Raven Who Sets Things Right" to be our 'exhibit of the month' this month. But don't expect to see it on display until "Behind Closed Doors" in February 2013.
