Not one, but many exhibits this month all designed by students from Madeley Academy in Telford as part of their interlocking artform module of their B-tec Art qualification. Every one has in common that it is inspired by story. Some of the stories you will recognise straight off, others you might need to look a little more deeply, but they are there nonetheless.
These exhibits have been on display at Wellington Library throughout the Summer period and are about to move, with several others into the collection at Mythstories museum.
They were made and exhibited as part of our Away With Words project which is Arts Council Lottery Funded. The students were set their challenge to base their artwork on story and were given guidance and advice from expert craftsmen and women from Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust who ensured that the artworks came into being just as the students had conceived them.
